Formal Education 

Georgetown University, B.A. in Spanish, minor in Performance Arts. May 2010.
       Graduated summa cum laude and with honors. Focus on Spanish linguistics and ethnomusicology.

Critical Language Scholarship, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Summer 2010.
       This program is funded by the State Department to encourage Americans to learn languages deemed critical. According to third party testing, I learned the equivalent of three years of academic study in the Bangla language in the course of 9 weeks in the program.

Study abroad in Dakar, Senegal. Spring 2009.
       In addition to completing coursework in the fields of Education, Public Health and Intercultural Communication, I used this semester to volunteer in a burn clinic and teach English in a local school.

Study abroad in Quito, Ecuador. Summer 2008.
       The focus of this trip was to investigate the nexus between nature and culture. I was able to spend a week at the Tiputini research station in the Amazon and another week in the Galapagos Islands.


Training and Certifications

Literacy through Photography certified. November 2011.
